In light of the current pandemic, we wish to protect our patients (particularly the elderly, frail and immune compromised) and our staff, so that we can remain open and provide general practice services.
In order to do so we ask:
YOU DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY IN PERSON FOR ANY REASON, UNLESS YOU HAVE A BOOKED APPOINTMENT.
Appointments can ONLY be booked by contacting reception by telephone. You will be asked for a reason for the appointment before one can be booked.
We urge you to follow the Government advice (12/3/20) to self-isolate for 7 days if you have a new persistent cough and/or a fever more than 37.8 degrees.
See here for further information: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance
For the majority of patients, Coronavirus will be a relatively minor illness with cough and/or fever. Most patients will not need any medical attention or advice. The Government advice is that the NHS will not be testing those self-isolating with mild illness and the surgery has no facilities for swabs to be taken to diagnose Coronavirus.
If you have respiratory symptoms· that fit the case definition for Coronavirus, AND you feel very unwell and think you may need hospital admission, please contact 111 (or 999 in an emergency) and state you think you have Coronavirus.
To manage the overwhelming demand at the surgery, we will be changing the way we work. This will include better use of telephone and video consultations.
We will not be seeing patients with respiratory or viral symptoms unless assessed by a GP first via telephone consultation.
Please consider using our online consultation facility Engage Consult
Please do not come to reception without a booked appointment.
Prescriptions can only be ordered on line, via pharmacy or by using the post box.
Prescriptions will be sent electronically to the pharmacy where possible. They cannot be collected from reception.
We have a practice pharmacist who can manage medication queries/overdue medication reviews - ideally use the online facility or request a telephone consultation with her.
Sick notes can be requested on line and will be issued via email if appropriate. Please self-certify absence for periods of less than 1 week -including for self-isolation.
Urine samples must be labelled and dropped in the box in the porch, please use the post box for all other documentation.
